Cults live @ Lamb & Flag

I was feeling pretty bummed that I missed Cults at The Glasshouse this week, and that I'll be missing the Good Old War show tonight. But last night, my sister's friend found out that Cults would be performing at Brea Mall for free. FREE. So I set my alarm for 8 AM for the first time in a couple of weeks and made it out to Brea. When we got there, there was already a line forming and we weren't let into the Lamb & Flag store until noon. Cults played about 6-7 songs and held a meet and greet afterwards-- I'm not really a meet and greet type of person, but both Brian and Madeline were pretty cool. (and they also make me want to grow my hair back, ha)

FIDM Debut 2012 Runway Show: Part 2

Like I mentioned before, Richelle, Diana, and I went out to dinner after the runway show. We ended up taking quick outfit photos, eating at The Counter, and having a little froyo afterwards.

The yogurt place had a cute chalkboard wall, so we doodled for a bit until homebound traffic died down. We ended the night by watching House Hunters on HGTV and laughing with my little sister Hanna. I'm assuming that's how all fashionistas end their nights, right?

FIDM Debut 2012 Runway Show: Part 1

My sister Richelle received a set of 3 tickets to FIDM's Debut 2012 runway show, so she invited Diana and I to tag along. I have never been to a runway show before, so I honestly didn't know what to expect, which caused me to turn into a big ball of anxiety before the show. I probably tried on 8 different outfits before I settled for the first outfit I tried on.

The show was held in The Barker Hangar of Santa Monica Airport. Surprisingly a long line was already forming by the time we got there, and there was still around an hour before show time. (I guess being fashionably late doesn't apply to runway shows?) I really wish I was brave enough to ask some of the fashionistas in line for outfit photos because some of them looked amaze. Anyway, we were seated around 5 PM and the show started around 5:30. OKAY, so remember Nick from season 2 of Project Runway? He was totally our host and he was totally fabulous. *snap*

The show started with a Phantom of the Opera segment, which featured work from FIDM's costume/theatre design grads. The next segment was a LBD challenge/Karen Kane collaboration, followed by the collections of 11 FIDM grads. One of the FIDM grads was actually a contestant on season 8 of Project Runway, but my favorite collection was from a grad named Alejandro Ortega, who was one of the last grads to present his collection. I couldn't get any adequate photos of his collection, but it was maaarve. The show ended around 7, so the three of us went out for dinner, which I'll feature in a later post!

The LBD challenge
(Eeeesh, I just realized I haven't posted in over a month! I've been extremely busy with school, but I'm on spring break now and I've got a ton of posts of catch up on)
